A little about us…

Welcome to the Johnstown Saddle Club of Berthoud, Colorado where adventure, fun and friendship all center around a love of horses. Whether you enjoy English Showmanship, Western Pleasure, Hunter Hack, Reining, Barrel Racing, or Pole Bending, JSC has something for every interest and experience level.

The Johnstown Saddle Club was formed in 1960 and the original arena was built by the Sheriff’s Posse. A lot has changed since the early days of the Johnstown Saddle Club, but one constant remains – horsemanship. Our mission is to keep the Johnstown Saddle Club traditions of the past and engage in the present and future with varied activities and events for horse owners and enthusiasts.

The Johnstown Saddle Club focuses on spreading fun and goodwill among horse owners. For more than four decades now, a group of equestrians from Northern Colorado have met at the JSC arena to socialize, talk about horses, compete in events and take part in activities designed to continue the equestrian sport which we love.

Our goal each year is to have fellowship with other riders (and non-riders alike), to foster safe equestrian activities and to offer opportunities to meet new riders as well as demonstrate our equestrian skills. We are always looking for new members to show that our equestrian family is alive and well in the community. We guarantee enough interesting events for everyone. We think you will enjoy our club and hope you will consider becoming a member and supporting our efforts.

We have wonderful people involved with the Johnstown Saddle Club – and appreciate everyone’s involvement with our activities & work days. Kari Jolly – President

Welcome,
My name is Kari Jolly, I am your current Johnstown Saddle Club President. I am a Colorado native and grew up on the front range in Morrison, CO. I have been riding horses since I was very young and continued to ride into my teenage years, I wasn’t lucky enough to own horses back then but was able to be a part of the youth riding organization Westernaires, where we performed precision mounted drills at speed. This is where my love for horses and the western way of life began.

Since then, I have owned, trained, raised and sold many quality horses. I have enjoyed breeding and raising quality quarter and paint horses for the past 15 years.  My husband Brian, myself and our daughter Korbyn currently have a nice stallion prospect BKK Tru Black Bruiser (black and white tobiano in picture). We have raised this colt, and he is currently in training to be our next All-Around Stallion prospect,  we plan to stand him at BKK Jolly Ranch. We have raised many quality colts over the years and have lived up to the motto “Your always Jolly with a horse raised or bought from a Jolly Rancher”.

Our family has been a part of this wonderful club since 2022 when Korbyn started as a lead liner in both the horse shows and gymkhanas. I take a back seat and watch from behind the scenes, you can find me usually find me behind the mic. Korbyn still does the gymkhanas and was the 2024 Jr. Queen and is again this year as well for the 2025 season. She has advanced her skills and is now riding on her own, on a gelding we take great pride in BKK Slick Whiskey, Slick for short. Our family loves being a part of this club and I have BIG dreams for the future of this club. Join us and you are bound to love it as much as we do!
Happy Trails and God Bless!!
Kari Jolly

Casey Goree – Vice President

Hello JSC! My name is Casey Goree. I am your vice president of the club for this year. I was raised here in Northern Colorado on a horse ranch. I’ve been riding horses for pleasure and in gymkhanas since I was very young. I have also participated in a few sorting clinics and have years of experience helping family friends with their bi-annual cattle drive in Eastern Colorado. I was a member of Johnstown Saddle Club in the 90s when I was a young child and when we moved to Wellington our family joined Rocky Mountain Saddle Club for many years. I am the proud mama of four kiddos: Hayden & Cameron (age 16) and Maya & Solai (age 7) who all have a passion for horseback riding as well. We rejoined Johnstown Saddle Club in 2020 and then took a few years off, but we are back and excited to enjoy the sport of horseback riding with you all. I have a passion for helping develop young riders. I can’t wait to see where our club takes off to this year! Please, reach out to me with any questions and suggestions you may have. I look forward to this season with all of you!

Eve Daub – Treasurer

Hey Everyone! I am Eve, your JSC Treasurer. I took this role last year as interim and was officially voted in for the 2025 season. I have been an official part of the club for a year, but prior to that was involved as a cheerleader for my niece, Korbyn Jolly who joined in 2022. It has been a blast watching her grow from a lead line rider and now competing on her own and achieving the 2024 Gymkhana Champion title.

I have been involved with horses since I was nine and still enjoy any interaction I get now as an adult. I am blessed to have access to an awesome eight year old quarter horse gelding, Turkey. He is a gorgeous bay with the worst trot imaginable, but somehow, we make it work. He is a head horse by trade and loves every minute of steer/cow work. We ventured into the Show side of things this year and while we have a lot to work on, we had a blast!! Everyone was so supportive and gracious that we are hoping to be back for the 2025 season. Turkey and I also tried our hand out at Gymkhana events at the 2024 Royalty Fun Day, which was also a BLAST!

While my duties keep me in the office during Show’s and Gymkhana’s (come on by and say Hi! Turkey and I would like to see more of you in the arena for the 2025 season!

Cadie Huffacker- Secretary

Hey there! I’m Cadie Huffaker, your current Johnstown Saddle Club secretary. I grew up on a ranch in Northern Colorado and have been riding horses my entire life. I have competed in many areas including Johnstown Saddle Club as a kid, Rocky Mountain Saddle Club, High School Rodeo, and ranch sorting with RSNC. Now that I am a mom, I still enjoy riding, but it typically takes backseat to all my daughter’s activities. This year she is the Junior Attendant for Johnstown Saddle Club, so you will be seeing a lot of us! In my spare time I enjoy reading, camping, fishing, and traveling. This year I am hoping for lots of growth, for myself, my daughter, and the club! Looking forward to spending the year serving JSC!
